Isabella and the Beast

On Monday morning, Isabella, Victoria and I were driving up north to meet some friends for some playtime. I was completely daydreaming while I was driving so I missed the exit to get us from MoPac to I-35. So I ended up cutting over to I-35 through downtown. I guess I had never driven the girls through downtown because this is what I heard from the backseat:

"Wow! Look at all the castles! (Pause for a few seconds to take in the very tall skycrapers.) I need to get in to one of those castles Mommy, so I can find my beast!"

I couldn't stop snickering because Isabella was totally serious with her comments. It amazes me how her 2-year-old girlie mind works and how one movie can cause so many new thoughts and discoveries and create so many new connections.

Welcome Baby Noah!

We are so happy to have finally met our new nephew, Noah Mateo. What a cutie! We can't wait to see how wonderfully God has knit him and what He has in store for him.

Girly Mornings

So our weekday mornings are usually filled with sugar and spice and everything nice. Some of the girls' favorite things to do are: playing hide-and-seek, dressing up with Mommy's belts, scarfs, hats, and anything they can find at their level in my closet and of course twirling and dancing to princess music while wearing tutus and tiaras. Thank goodness for our empty room upstairs which has become their dance floor. This all gets done before 9am....phew!

Nanny nanny boo boo! You can't find me!

Our First Vegetable Garden

So we are starting our first vegetable garden. We were all still in our jammies on Saturday morning so we decided to do the planting inside. What a mess, but we had a great time! It's so funny to see how different our girls are. Isabella can't stand to get dirty so she was happy dropping the seeds into the pots, but did not want anything to do with the potting soil. How perfect because Victoria wanted everything to do with the dirt! Not only did she do a great job of filling the pots, but she did a great job of spreading the soil all over herself and the kitchen floor.

So we will see how our garden grows. We've planted radishes, tomatoes, carrots, onions, oregano, mint, basil and cilantro. We'll start with those for now. Our plans are to replant our little biodegradable pots in our future garden on the side of the house.

Five Fabulous Years

Mark and I celebrated our fifth anniversary on March 5th. We spent our weekend skiing and snowboarding in Beaver Creek and Vail. It was a winter wonderland and snowed most of our first day there. The next day we experienced the best snow that either of us had ever skied in, and Mark has done his fair shair of snowboarding. Unfortunately, our day was cut shorter than we would have liked when Mark's snowboard boot completely fell apart. After 13 years, it's about time to get some new boots. But we spent the rest of our day leisurely walking through the village, getting pampered with a massage and of course eating. We had a great time getting away for a few days, and I loved being able to completely focus on my hubby and not worrying about kiddos at all.
